choose an issue central to the LGBT rights movement (except same-sex marriage) and critically examine it. Choose an issue interesting to you, explain both sides (or more!) in detail, and then pick a side and persuade me. What is the issue at hand? Does the issue impact the LGBT community equally or does the issue disproportionately impact a particular group within the movement? What are the arguments on all sides of the debate? Why do these sides believe what they do? What are the successes, failures, and future prospects pertaining to the issue?

The standard rules apply: Ideologically charged (or normative) arguments without evidence will not suffice and you need to incorporate at least one outside reading from a reputable source (newspaper articles, academic journals, etc.). Memos should be no less than 3 pages and no more than 5 pages, double spaced, 12-point font, 1” margins. Include a link or citation to your outside source(s)
