Order Description
Samuel Taylor Coleridge was a close friend and protégé of William Godwin, the father of Mary Shelley. As she told the story, Coleridge would visit her father, sit by the fireside, and read from his poem “Rime of the Ancient Mariner.” These make up some of her earliest memories.
Later, when writing her novel Frankenstein, Shelley says she drew up the images and themes from “Mariner” for her novel.
In a formal essay, discuss the ways Coleridge’s poem influenced the images and themes we see in Frankenstein.
Remember that this is an essay, therefore you must have an arguable thesis.
