2. The passage Biography of God’s Messenger (Pomeranz, p. 191) describes Muhammad’s practice of reflection and contemplation in a cave on Mt. Hira, near Mecca. What convinces Muhammad that his visions are truly from God? What is the importance of texts and literacy to Muhammad’s mission? How is Muhammad’s relation to previous prophets portrayed?
