In this project, you will write your own philosophy of nursing unique to your own current practice of nursing.
Writing a philosophy is time-consuming, and requires much self-introspection. It involves writing down your beliefs and values about nursing. Often you ask the questions: ” What is nursing?” and “Why do I practice nursing the way I do it now?”
When writing your own philosophy/theory, be sure to address the following: (40 pts.)
•Key Concepts of your philosophy/theory; (20 pts)
•The 4 Metaparadigms of nursing as you view them and how they apply in your own practice area; (and relate it to the next bullet) (20 pts.)
The Nursing Process; (30 pts.)
•How your philosophy could be applied to your present nursing practice, research, administration and/or education; (15 pts.)
•Your philosophy’s strengths and limitations (be sure to elaborate on these). (15 pts.)
Remember, there is no right or wrong philosophy! The goal here is to expound on your philosophy based on the knowledge you obtained or have understood or learned through the study of other theorists/philosophers.
Before beginning this project, review MDC School of Nursing BSN Philosophy . (This is an example of how concepts and philosophy guides and directs curriculum.)
The paper should follow these guidelines: (30 pts.)
•It must be your original work. (10 pts.)
•It should be no more than four pages long, double spaced, and typed in a MS WORD file. (10 pts.)
•It should adhere to APA style (includes introduction, body, conclusion) with correct grammar and spelling are expected. (10 pts)
You will submit your paper to the dropbox for a grade.
When you have completed this assignments, you will be able to to construct a personal philosophy of nursing by:

•application to the nursing process (education, practice, research, and/or administration),
Before beginning this assignment review MDC SON BSN philosophy. You will ultimately synthesize this information into your philosophy. The criteria for this project is:
•original work (minimize citations)
•4 page content APA compliant, double spaced with title & reference page
•introduction, body and conclusion with correct grammar & spelling
•make sure to proofread at least 3 times and correct (use resources, library, tutors, etc)
•check match with safe assign (2 opportunities to correct)
