Firstly, you need a clear thesis that states your position on the issue and your two reasons for that position.
Secondly, you need to make this thesis the last sentence of your introductory paragraph.
Thirdly, you need to prove your reasons in your first and second body paragraphs.
Fourthly, you need to state your counterclaim.
Fifthly, you need to refute the counterclaim.
Then you write your concluding paragraph.
You also need to use some of the language strategies that we discussed in class to make your essay more effective.
