How do you simplify ##sqrt(44)##?

The answer is ##2sqrt(11)##.

To simplify a square root, you factor what’s inside the root into perfect squares and everything else. In this case, you can factor 44 into a product of 4 and 11:

##sqrt(44) = sqrt(4*11)##

4 is a perfect square, so you can take it out its root giving you the answer:

##2sqrt(11)##

11 is a prime number meaning you cannot factor it any further.
