In “Letter to the Bishops of the Catholic Church on the Collaboration of Men and Women in the Church and in the World,” Cardinal Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI Emeritus) addresses the relationship between the sexes.

1. Analyze and discuss the central ideas in the text. Please discuss its foundational anthropological assumptions of the natural sexual differences between man and woman and its familial, social, cultural, economic, and ecclesial implications. Identify and discuss the positions that the document critiques.

b.Put the “Letter to the Bishops” in conversation with Elizabeth Johnson’s feminist theologies.
Please provide a careful analysis and discussion of the central tenets of Johnson’s writings (“The Living God in Women’s Voices” and “The Maleness of Christ”) Identify the different positions and the implications of these positions.

c. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each position.

The paper should bring to light the main ideas and the central argument as well as the structure, logic,and function of the argument. The paper must demonstrate comprehension of the text and argument as a whole.

The papers must be well structured and include an introduction (poses the question, presents clearly the thesis of the paper)
