I think that the security in my past agency is more appropriate to talk about because I am no longer employed there. That is the U.S. Mint in Denver, Colorado, this is where coins are produced and stored for delivery. It also stores a third of the nations gold, so many of the vaults and safes are very sturdy and hard to crack. The Mint also has its on Police force that is there 24/7, that has fixed and roving positions and video cameras everywhere. I think this is one of the most important details of security locks is a armed person that can respond to alarms within seconds. The Mint is not a very large complex with acres and surrounding lush landscapes. Instead it is one building with different levels and a very tall spike reinforced steel fence surrounding it. I can not get into detail about the vaults, I can say that regardless of power they will still stay locked. The vaults were engineered around the 1900’s and have been upgraded with technology, they are very secure but the response and vigilance of the security staff is what makes the most importance. You can not drive a vehicle thought the gates due to the building being right down town and no way to get that kind of distance to produce speed. The lighting of the perimeter is amazing and building at night and the fence is very menacing, there are appropriate countermeasures all sorts of natural and manmade disasters. The fence is one of the best locks to get past and then every door is reinforced with hardened steel and have to badged through to gain access to the building this happens a couple of times, of badging through multiply gates until you are actually inside the building.
