Write a biographical sketch of five full pages that 1) provides basic biographical information about a famous writer who is now deceased (one full page) and 2) provides a creative take on that writer if he or she was in our world today (Items to Consider). Write the basic biographical portion in chronological order and use the database and biography.com to gather information about the writer. Make sure you read the lectures about Using Sources in Your Writing because you are expected to do so with the information you use from the above sources. After you have provided the reader with a context of the writer’s life, think critically and creatively. You’ll want to imagine that writer in the present time. What would he or she say, do, or publish if he or she was alive today?

Is the writer an A-lister?•
What would be the writer’s stance on our social issues? Be specific.•
Would the writer utilize social media?•
What political party would the writer support?•
What charitable organization would the writer fund?•
What actor/actress would portray the writer in a movie biography?•
Would the writer be associated with any scandals?•

Add an image of your writer underneath the title of your essay. The image should be 2 1⁄2•
inches by 1 1⁄2 inches.
