**IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS COURSE A TERM PAPER OF REASONABLE QUALITY MUST BE SUBMITTED ON OR BEFORE ITS DUE DATE. NOT SUBMITTING ONE WILL EARN YOU A COURSE FAILURE.

**THIS DOCUMENT OUTLINES YOUR REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS PROJECT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR UNDERSTANDING ITS CONTENT AND FOLLOWING ITS DIRECTIONS.

***Each student will be required to submit a term paper of no less than 5 pages and 5 professional sources following the strict guidelines of the APA publication manual pertaining to reference citation/documentation of sources. This data is accessible via the BMCC Library home page. You are required to review this data and to ask any questions stemming from this review. It counts for 40% of your total course grade. Its due date can be found on the last page of the syllabus. Lateness is charged at 20 pts per calendar day (including weekends and holidays). This paper shall be typed utilizing a type face of no larger than 12 pt. It must be submitted using only Arial or Times New Roman fonts

The topic of your paper is as follows:
**You are to write a comprehensive essay on any topic in the field of Psychology. If the topic is found in the text, it is fine…otherwise ask me.
You may use one of two approaches: either you may write a traditional essay or you may apply your findings to a personal situation which will highlight the issues involved.
**In either case, this paper shall consist of two sections: a comprehensive review of pertinent professional literature (as outlined below) and an integration of personal (real-life) experiences (such as how this might hypothetically be applied to a career choice of yours or some similar subject.)
RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES (the “how to’s” of research paper writing; and a rubric by which your work shall be critically evaluated)
Your grade is composed of two parts:

**Knowledge of proper formatting rules and APA paper structure
