Operation WATCHTOWER the August 1942 seizure and occupation of Guadalcanal and Tulagi in the Solomon Islands was the first major Allied offensive operation in the Pacific Theater in World War II.  Using your understanding of operational art, operational design, and the events surrounding the planning and execution of this operation, answer both of the following questions:

1.    Analyze the Space-Time-Force considerations that influenced the Allied decision to invade the southern Solomons in August 1942.  Next, evaluate the Allied performance in balancing the operational factors.
