The paper will examine the status and condition of African Americans in comparison to whites in the area of crime and the criminal justice system. This topic includes a discussion and examination of crime rates, rates of victimization, punishment (e.g. incarceration), and any problem associated with this issue area as it relates to the lives of African Americans in the United States.
