Students will write a 2,000-word report on the welfare system of a country or territory (other than Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and Macao) of their choice. The focus should be on one particular sector, policy issue or social scheme. This piece of assessment allows students to show their ability in making creative and independent use of available secondary information to highlight their specialized knowledge in the field. The paper is due in the middle of the semester.
