This assignment requires reading chapter one of my ethics textbook, answering the survey 50 questions (posted in attachments), watching the video posted below and answering the questions related to video
Assignment:
Video: (200 words is fine for this part of assignment)
In this video, Michael Sandel, an American political philosopher, discusses consequentialist (utilitarianism is the prime example of consequentialism) and categorical (deontology and rights-based ethics are the prime examples of categorical approaches) approaches to several famous hypothetical moral dilemmas involving trollies and organ transplants. Watch from the beginning to the 24:10 mark when the first half of the video concludes. How would you respond to one of the famous thought experiments presented by Sandel, and more importantly, why?
Use the questions I pose in the description of the video along with the major points the speaker made to guide the discussion. Connecting points made by the speaker with ideas or questions raised in the textbook or my questions in the description of the video are especially valued.
