The research paper for this class is on a religious belief or practice of your choosing. The topic needs to have been per-approval through the assignment “Topic”.
The paper will cover:
the context of the belief or practice, which includes the religion its part of and the people (culture, time, place) who believe or practice it
a description of the belief or practice, what happens, when, where, etc.
an explanation of the role this belief or practice has within the religion
an explanation of why this is a ‘religious’ belief or practice
Paper requirements:
the paper must be objective, meaning it is based in fact and not influenced by emotions, opinions, or personal feelings
paper length 3-5 written pages, not counting a title page (not required) or source list (e.g., References Cited) (required), 12 pt font, 1 inch margins, space and half between lines
a minimum of 5 sources required, primary or academic sources preferred, the textbook maybe used as a source
use APA, MLA, or Chicago citation style
in-text citations, regardless of the style used, must be within the paper to inform the reader of the specific portions of the text in which the information comes from an outside source and not from the author of the paper
no quotes from any source are allowed in the paper, instead the author of the paper will use their own words in conveying the meaning of referenced source material
