Module Three –The English Colonies in America
The long road to the American Revolution really begins with the first English settlement but by 1660 significant changes are evident. Two chapters will consider those changes.
Objectives – At the end of this module you will be able to:
Identify and analyze the pivotal developments in all regions of the USA prior to 1763.
Explain the chief components (religious, economic, political, etc.) of the pre-1763 culture of the USA.
Analyze the interconnections (social, gender, artistic, intellectual, religious, etc.) among different historical movements, changes, and trends.
Identify the major problems confronting the pre-1763 USA.
Draw conclusions from history, discussing long-lasting trends and their possible impact on current and future developments.
Compare and contrast the cultural realms of the pre-1763 USA.
Analyze the position in the world of the young American nation.
Discuss the impact of the culture of the pre-1763 USA on the world.
Explain the most valuable lessons drawn from the analysis of the history of the pre-1763 USA.
